This notice describes the controls on this version of the Better Water Heaters website. It is not a replacement for a full privacy policy.

What this site uses

Necessary preference storage: the local storage entry bwh-cookie-consent remembers your choice in this browser for 180 days. It is not used for advertising. The necessary ga-disable-G-CZ5ZNQJQ4M cookie also remembers an analytics rejection for up to 180 days if preference storage fails; it does not identify or track you. A new explicit acceptance clears that opt-out marker. The choice is specific to this browser and website address, not shared across devices.

Optional analytics: Microsoft Clarity. Only after you accept, Clarity collects website usage information for heatmaps and session recordings to help us improve this site. Clarity masks sensitive input content by default. We do not send custom customer identifiers, and advertising storage consent remains denied. No advertising tags or external embeds are enabled by this choice.

Clarity may use _clck (up to one year) and _clsk (up to one day) to connect page views and sessions. Our consent choice expires after 180 days. The script runs only on betterwaterheaters.com and www.betterwaterheaters.com, not preview or development websites. A choice saved before Clarity was added does not enable it; we ask again for this updated inventory. See Microsoft’s Privacy Statement.

Any future optional integration needs an updated inventory and notice, a new choice, and a tested default-off consent gate before it is enabled. These controls do not automatically block arbitrary tags added later.

Your controls

Optional analytics: Google Analytics 4. After acceptance, Google Analytics (measurement ID G-CZ5ZNQJQ4M) measures page views, phone-link clicks and service requests acknowledged as accepted by our email provider. A request count is not a booked job or revenue. We send no form contents, names, phone numbers, email addresses or monetary values in these events. Google Analytics may use _ga and _ga_CZ5ZNQJQ4M cookies; this implementation limits their lifetime to 180 days. Google Signals, advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalization remain off. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

Accept all enables optional Clarity and Google Analytics. Reject all keeps the Clarity script off and Google Analytics off, including cookieless tracking. Necessary site functions, service-request forms and phone links remain available. Closing settings without saving does not change your choice. If this browser blocks preference storage, non-essential services remain off and we may ask again on a later visit. The current inventory is version 3: earlier Clarity-only acceptance does not enable Google Analytics, and we ask for a new choice.

When Global Privacy Control is enabled, we record rejection even if you previously accepted. This site does not load sale or sharing advertising tags. The browser signal does not submit a separate account or records request.

Withdrawal and older storage

Open Cookie settings and select Reject all to withdraw a previous acceptance. You can reopen preferences using the lower-right cookie button or the link in the footer at any time. If analytics has started, we deny consent, disable Google measurement, clear accessible analytics cookies and reload the page to stop collection, including cookieless collection. Unsaved form entries may be lost in that reload.

When optional analytics is off, we also remove accessible Google tracking cookies and old website-widget storage observed from the previous website. Browser security prevents us from deleting third-party or HttpOnly cookies, or cookies on inaccessible paths. You can clear this site’s data in your browser for additional cleanup. This may also erase your saved preference.
